A Girl Like Me

Her thoughts are not in her control,
Words don't come to her naturally,
Sadness is something she can't carry with herself for long,
Fear just doesn't want to leave her.

She cries when she is happy,
She cries when is angry,
But, tears don't come to her when her heart stoops with pain.

She loves dancing in the rain,
She fears no scorching sun,
She knows no weather lasts for long,
Yet, today the cool breeze is tearing apart her heart!

Her diary is her best friend,
Her husband is her love,
Her son is her pride,
But, what is it that's missing in her life?

Love and only love…The Letter

On entering the house after 48 hours, Akhilesh was welcomed by the fresh smell of the passion flower & rose from his balcony. His 1BHK in Malviya Nagar has been done with utmost love & perfection. He has handpicked everything: be it the flower pots or the furniture. Each furniture was of low height and in sync with the wall colours, the best of the lot being the Japanese dining table placed near the balcony, at a place from where he could sit and watch the open sky. He had to pay a hefty deposit for this house, for getting such a place in Delhi was a dream of many. But, not all were Akhilesh! A smile came on his lips as he recalled the efforts invested behind this small piece of property. He ran his fingers through his long hair and scanned through the room. He has painted the walls with utmost care and each stroke reflected his perfection. Though he has picked up some chicken tandoori and roti from the shop downstairs, he had no appetite. Keeping his shoes on the rack, ...

Om’s Birth Story-Part 1: THE PREGNANCY

3 rd May 2014: I had conducted my 1 st pregnancy test at my then home, in Bangalore. Result was indistinct; it was a 30/70. Being aware of all the complications related to my pregnancy, I was pretty confident on the negative result.  The next test was planned post my Bday on 11 th May, but some uncanny symptoms my body was giving me. I always have a very strong sense of smell, but in that one week it had reached to the level of hyperosmia. I started getting tired very easily, tired to the point of panting like a dog! So, got my next test done on 09 th and yes! It was positive. At 4:00 am in morning, I did the test. That moment was like getting fresh air after being stuck in the lift for an hour. That moment was like seeing the sea from a ferris wheel. I guess the bliss of giving birth to a child, is so very immense because the risks and pain surrounding those 9 months are equally elevated. Husbands take time to grasp all major developments in his woman’s life. I had this ...
